HANCOCK
Ralph Byron Pinkham of Hancock passed away peacefully at home on March 2, 2018. He was born Aug. 14, 1955, in Chelsea, Mass., to Florence and Ralph Pinkham.
After high school, Ralph was in the Navy for four years. He then came home to Maine, where he cooked at Crazy Gils, was a CNA at Sonogee and worked at Yesterday’s Children for many years. He enjoyed working with the residents and creating lasting memories for all. His last job, however, was his favorite. He worked for Seaside Painting alongside of one of his best buds, Henry Holbrook. The dynamic duo lived life to the fullest and always brought the party with them wherever they went.
Some of Ralph’s favorites memories came from working on racecars with his brother, Girard Pinkham, and close friends John Austin and Dwayne Overlock. He loved attending the races working as part of the pit crew and of course being their biggest fan. A dream came true for him when he got to go to Daytona Speedway during bike week with his brother, sister-in-law and niece. He got to have a tour of the track, check out the racecars and bikes and even have his picture with his hero’s statue, Dale Earnhardt.
Ralph prided himself on always living life to the fullest, caring for his loved ones with a whole heart and always having an open door for his family and friends.
Ralph is survived by, his brother, Girard Pinkham and wife, Janice, of Ellsworth, his niece and pride and joy, Lisa Pinkham and her boyfriend Scott Swett of Waltham, nephew Cameron Pinkham of Ellsworth, and Bruce and June McAlapine and children, Bryce, Autumn and Jenna of Ellsworth. He was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Florence Pinkham, nephew Tobin Fitch and best friend Henry Holbrook.
There will be a celebration of life at the Ellsworth Elks Lodge Saturday, March 31, from 1-3 p.m.
