Ellsworth
Diane Carlisle Partridge, 84, passed away Oct. 26, 2022, at her home in Ellsworth. She was born in Portland, Aug. 9, 1938, the daughter of Clifton Earle and Elfie Helen (Priest) Carlisle.
She attended Beals Business College in Bangor and earned her degree in business while her children were young. Her first job was at J.J. Newberry at the soda fountain. She worked for Hancock Oil as a bookkeeper for 20 years, did daycare for hundreds of children from 1983-2000, and for many years worked at the Hampton Inn as a night auditor. She was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Irene Chapter No. 97 of Ellsworth.
Diane is survived by children Linnie Partridge Cough and husband, David, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; John E. Partridge and wife, Beth, Michael W. Partridge, and wife, Rebecca, both of Ellsworth; Lydia Partridge Basnight and husband, John, of Putnam, Conn.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a special friend and companion, Wayne Moon, and her cat, Max. She was predeceased by her husband of 62½ years, George A. Partridge, Jr; brother, Tyler Carlisle; and sister, Pamela Kitchen.
A graveside service will be held Nov. 4, 2022, at 1 p.m., at Woodbine Cemetery, Ellsworth. Contributions in Diane’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
