Nadine Sachsman Woodworth, “Nini,” 89, died peacefully in her home in Ellsworth on July 23, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Nini moved from New York to Bar Harbor upon graduating nursing school in 1953. She fell in love with the area and her first husband, Mort Sachsman; Bar Harbor soon became her beloved home. She worked as a registered nurse at the MDI Hospital and at Sonogee Estates for most of her career. Nini’s life’s work was supporting the health and well-being of others in her community.
In her retirement, Nini lived to spend time with her family; they always meant the world to her. She enjoyed knitting, puzzles and reading as well as her lifelong interest in cooking and preparing healthy, delicious meals. Her family will always remember her innate compassion and unconditional love. Nini was predeceased by her beloved son, Larry Sachsman, and her second husband, Richard Woodworth. She is survived by her daughter, Marly Sachsman, granddaughters Darith, Amanda and Sarah James and Carlie Bragdon; and also her great-grandchildren, Jack and Stella Stroud, Bull McManus and Cedar and Rosie Podd, as well as her sister, Linda Graves.
