Prospect Harbor

Tracy Rice, 51, of Prospect Harbor, after suffering with patience and grace for 10 years invalided by multiple sclerosis (MS), joined her dear son Tanner Thibault in Heaven on July 21. Tracy was a graduate of Sumner Memorial High School. She loved spending time with family and friends. Some of her favorite places to go were Swamp Rest, the family’s hunting camp, and Camp Pickled, the family’s camp on Flanders Pond. She also loved to drive around Schoodic with the radio blasting. She said it helped her to work out her troubles.

Tracy had a huge heart and would do anything she could for anyone. People who met her immediately fell in love with her. When her MS worsened, she was very fortunate to have such loving, caring and devoted workers who became lifelong friends. The family is forever grateful for everything they did for her. She was predeceased only five months ago by her son, Tanner, who suffered fatal injuries as a passenger in a tragic local vehicle accident, and her father, James “Sunny” Rice Jr., her grandparents, Wilfred and Irene Haney and James and Bernice Rice, and aunts and uncles. Tracy is survived by her partner, Tanner’s father, Michael Thibault, her beloved mother Jackie Rice, sisters Pamela Bridges and husband, Bryan, and Kathy Brock and husband, Jerry, nieces and nephews Danielle, Dana, Jayden, Jenna, Jr, Sammie, Rand, Christopher, Brennan, Ryan, Heather, Bailey, Eben and Raegan. Tracy will be missed by many, but now is reunited with her son, her Dad, good friend Nean and family. She is enjoying the things she loved that were taken from her in this life by her horrible disease. A celebration of life will be held on Sept. 4.
