Sidney J. Linscott

Sidney J. Linscott, 88, passed away July 20, 2021, at his home in Trenton. He was born in Ellsworth, July 14, 1933, the son of Harvard S. and Ruth M. (Wood) Linscott.

Sid owned and operated Main St. Amoco for 40-plus years selling gas and used cars. It eventually became Main St. Auto. He then became involved in flipping houses and buying and selling antiques. After retirement, he and Rita enjoyed golfing, boating and going to Moosehead Lake fishing. He and Rita were married for 64 years before her death in 2016.

He is survived by his son, James Linscott, and partner, Debra Mayo, of Hancock; daughters Mary Ellen “Ellie” Cummings and husband, Gerald, of Rapid City, S.D., and Susan Wilson and husband, Larry, of Ellsworth; grandchildren, Jeremy Linscott, Gerald Cummings III, Courtney Nelson, and Benjamin and Christopher Wilson; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife; granddaughter, Jamie Lea Linscott; sister, Eva Davis; and brother, Frederick Linscott.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Aug. 6, 2021, at Woodbine Cemetery with Pastor Bob Maddocks presiding.
