BAR HARBOR – Frances Elizabeth Larson passed away peacefully on May 14, 2016, at Sonogee Rehabilitation and Living Center. She was born on May 15, 1919, in Gouldsboro, the daughter of the late Frank and Lydia Gerrish. Frances was raised in South Gouldsboro, and later went on to graduate from Higgins Classical Institute in Bangor. Upon graduating, she moved to Boston, Mass., where she met and later married her late husband, Lars “Andy” Larson. Frances and Andy later moved to Woburn, Mass., where Frances enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her two sons. Upon retirement, Andy and Frances moved to Winter Harbor, where they spent their final years together.
Frances was predeceased by Lars “Andy” Larson, her husband of 46 years. She is survived by her sons, Richard Larson and wife, Gae, of Ellington, Conn., and Roy Larson and wife, Isa, of Sao Paulo, Brazil; her grandchildren, Jeff Larson of Lynn, Mass., Stacy Meacham and her husband of Ellington, Conn., and Andy Larson, Edward Larson, Thomas Larson and John Larson of Sao Paulo, Brazil; her great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Meacham, Abby Meacham, of Ellington, Conn., and Laura Larson, Liz-Helena Larson, Otto Larson and Thomas Larson of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
There will be a private graveside service at West Gouldsboro Cemetery on Aug 12, 2016, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church. P.O. Box 145.
