Delmar Glenn “Del” Buzzell, 79, died June 12, 2018, at his residence. He was born March 11, 1939, in Surry the son of Earl G. and Viola (Deviow) Buzzell.
Del was a graduate in 1956 from George Steven Academy, Blue Hill. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1962 serving in the Vietnam War. He retired in 1984 as a senior chief petty officer, U.S. Navy. He worked for Champion Paper for a number of years and then became self-employed with his own wood business. He enjoyed fishing, logging and being in nature.
Del was a man of honor and integrity. He was a friend and mentor to all. He was a husband, son, father, grandfather and friend. The world lost one of the best. He touched so many lives with his smile, hugs, charm and compassion.
Del is survived by his wife, Blanche (Wilson) Buzzell; daughter Glenna Reynolds and husband Kyle; son Kevin Buzzell and partner Regina Mamou; two stepsons, Jeremy Daigle and wife, Jennifer, and Richard Daigle and wife, Brenda; stepdaughter Melanie Hileman and husband, Steven; two brothers Gary Buzzell and Colby Buzzell and wife, Pat; sister Jannette Bush and husband, Frank; 13 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Elvira Buzzell.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Village Cemetery, Surry.
