ELLSWORTH
Elwin “Sonny” Floyd Curtis, Jr., 85, of Ellsworth, went home with Jesus on March 30, 2018, after he lost the battle of an ongoing illness. Sonny was born in Bangor on Nov. 9, 1932, to Elwin F. and Annar M. (Crossman) Curtis Sr.
Sonny was very proud of his naval career of 23 years. He also loved to play his guitar, banjo and mandolin.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Esther (Polley) Curtis, three children, Elwin “Skip” Curtis III and wife, Denise, of Ellsworth, Crystal Lindsey of Ellsworth and Kandi Crawford of Hulls Cove, stepchildren, Cynthia Northrup, Pamela Ireland and Jeanne Ireland, all of Ellsworth. Three grandchildren, Justin Foss, Denise Curtis and Deanna Lindsey, Nine step-grandchildren, Keith, Jessica, Tiffany, Kristen, Amanda, Ashley, Matthew, Tyler and Joshua. Several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Sonny is also survived by three brothers, Jesse of Penobscot, Barry of Blue Hill and Gary of Ellsworth. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lorri Lee Crawford, four brothers and four sisters.
Arrangements made by Kiley and Foley of Brewer. Celebration of life will be set at a later date.
