SARASOTA, Fla. – Alice Lee Grant McGlothlin departed this world on April 26, 2016, after a lifelong battle with diabetes.
Alice was kind, loving, generous and always a “tell it like it is” person. She was the only daughter of Frances and Clarence Grant, both deceased. Alice is survived by her husband, Gary McGlothlin of Bradenton, Fla. By three brothers, Myron (Dottie), Ross (Anne) and Robert (Diane) all of Ellsworth; nieces Haley and Fallon Grant; and nephews Buzzy, Buddy, Roger and Robert Grant, in addition, Alice is also survived by her stepchildren; Michael McGlothlin and his wife, Wendy, and their children Sara, Tyler and Sandy; and Lisa McGlothlin (partner Dave Worcester), grandchildren Duncan and Blake Haas, and grandchildren Samantha and Matthew Barker. She was preceded in death by a stepdaughter Julie McGlothlin Barker, Julie’s husband Jason and her step father Junior Moore.
Alice was a graduate of Ellsworth High School, and was the office manager for Dental Associates in Ellsworth and Bucksport for over 25 years. She was a past Realtor, and also owned a real estate rental business.
Following her first heart attack, Gary and Alice moved to Bradenton, Fla., and warmer weather. They traveled the States in their RV, including a 17,000-mile journey to and from Alaska and several other states, and enjoyed cruises to Mexico and many islands in the Caribbean. More recently, Alice was a cruise consultant working for Expedia Cruise Ship Centers in Sarasota, Fla.
At Alice’s request, there will be no services. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
