Phillip S. Grindle

OBIT Philip Grindle_WALTHAM – Phillip S. Grindle, 68, of Waltham, lost his courageous battle with cancer on April 20, at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital. He was born June 6, 1947, and has joined his parents Hollis and Myrtle Grindle along with his brother Gilbert, whom he spent his last days with.

Phil loved the Red Sox, going to Bog River Camp, the outdoors, playing horseshoes, his doggie day care, and his door was always open for a game of cribbage with his family and friends.

He is survived by his twin sister Phyllis and husband, Jasper Kane, his brother Gerald and wife, Nicole Grindle, his sister Geraldine and husband, Jack Vanovenhue, and many other special family members.

Phil was predeceased by five brothers and one sister.

Phil leaves behind his companion and best friend Sam, his dog who was always by his side along with two special friends, Wade Chick and Marla Mitchell.

A graveside service will be held for brothers Phillip and Gilbert Grindle on May 28, at 10 a.m. at Woodbine Cemetery in Ellsworth.
