BANGOR – Carol Heber Lane, 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loving family, Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016. She was born June 30, 1945, in Bangor, the daughter of Lt. Col. Malcolm M. Heber, USAF (RET), and Joanne (Garland) Heber.
Carol graduated from Ellsworth High School, Class of 1963, and in 1967 graduated from the University of Maine in Orono, where she received a bachelor’s degree. She was alumni class columnist for 30 years. She also was a crisis hotline counselor for Spruce Run for 20 years.
Carol is survived by daughter Bonnie and grandsons Malcolm, Orion, and Bodhi; Carol and husband of 15 years, Daniel, share 43 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers Justin and wife, Annick, Albert and wife, Sarah; one niece; and six nephews.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at the Family Reception Center of Brookings-Smith, 163 Center St., following the service.
