Ronald Walter Robinson Jr., 65, died peacefully in his sleep while holding his daughter’s hand on Oct. 8, 2022, at Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital in Ellsworth.

Ron was born on May 4, 1957, in Lewiston, the son of Ronald W. Robinson Sr. and Grace M. (Martin), now known as Misty Morin. Ron served in the U.S. Army from 1974-1975. He worked in the shoemaking industry throughout Maine in a number of different shoe factories.

Ron loved his daughters more than they will ever know. He was one of the most resilient and strongest people you could ever meet. Once you met him you would know at once that he had the biggest heart. He overcame many different types of cancers and has always been a fighter, even to the very end. At a time like this, it’s hard to not be sad, but Ron said before he passed that he doesn’t want anyone to be sad, he wants everyone to be happy and hold him close in your hearts and celebrate the life and the journey he had with everyone.

Ron has always been the kind of person who likes to be by themselves out in the middle of the woods camping in a tent. He was happiest in the woods and happiest with his dog Luke, and even happier around his daughter, Veronica. One thing to admire about Ron is that no matter where life took him, no matter how down he got, how far he fell, he never stopped trying to fix himself and become better; it might’ve taken him a little longer each time, but he always got to where he needed to be, and his daughter has always been proud of her dad.

Ron is survived by his mother, Misty Morin; four daughters, Veronica Jane Robinson and her fiancé, Ralph Jackson, Jessica Crane, Sarah Benard and Stacy Fournier; six grandchildren; brothers, Mike, James, Shawn Robinson and his girlfriend Jessica Irish; sister Judy Pelletier; nieces and nephews Bryson, Hopeanne and Eric; his three best friends, whom he loved and cherished, Renee Trust, Rob Pannier and his wife, Lori, and Kimie Conary; and many other friends he has made along his journey.

Ron was predeceased by his father, Ronald Walter Robinson Sr., brother Richard Robinson, uncle Norman and his aunts Marie and Irene and best friend Earl Gray Sr.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at a later date, to be announced.

Contributions in Ron’s memory may be made to the American Legion, P.O. Box 8076, Ellsworth, ME 04605, or any other veterans’ fund.

Arrangements by Jordan-Fernald Funeral Homes, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth.
