Ellsworth 
Nellie Stratton passed away unexpectedly at a local hospital on Sept. 27, 2022. She was born April 21, 1936, in Greenville, S.C.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Stratton Scholes, of Ellsworth; and her grandsons, Adam Clark and Noah Scholes, both of Ellsworth. She is also survived by her former stepchildren Teri Bires, Lori Stratton, David Stratton, Dan Stratton and Kenny Stratton III, along with their families, as she thought of them fondly.
Nellie worked at Hancock Grammar School in the lunch program for 47 years, retiring this past June. She also waitressed for many years at the Holiday Inn in Ellsworth and the White Birches in Hancock.
There will be a celebration of life for her at the Hancock Grammar School on Nov. 5 at 1 p.m.
