Hancock
Robert Owen James Jr., 78, died after a long battle with cancer Feb. 26, 2022, at his home in Hancock. He was born in Bangor, Nov. 25, 1943, the son of Robert O. and Shirley E. (Farnsworth) James.
Robert or “Jimmy,” as everyone called him, attended Brewer High School from 1958-1962. Jimmy went on to work for the Bangor Hydro-Electric, where he made a career of 30 years. After retirement, he went on to remaining in the career field he loved and went to work for his best friend, Bud Morse, at Winkumpaugh Line Construction. Aside from working, Jimmy loved the outdoors and other recreational hobbies such as hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and skiing, and he enjoyed these hobbies with his two sons. Jimmy was a good friend and was known to help others, never expecting anything in return.
Robert is survived by his sons, Matt and Zac; brothers, Ronnie and Danny, and his dog, Chase. Predeceased by sister, Joanne
A memorial service will be held in the spring.
