Ellsworth
Russell Sargent, 82, lost his battle with cancer on Feb. 4, 2022, in Ellsworth with his loving family by his side. Russell was born in Sorrento on June 30, 1939. Russell was a man of means by no means and loved to sing about it along with countless other songs of the ’60s and ’70s. Usually with a big grin on his face. He was always busy with his hands either clamming, gardening, carpentry or making wreathes. Sharing the fire pit with his daughter Marion and family was his happy place. His quick wit, smart ass humor and huge, contagious smile will be remembered by all who came in contact with him.
He was predeceased by Libby Joy of Sullivan. He is survived by sister Audrey and husband, Tom Willis, of Virginia, daughter Marion and husband, Dave Kidder, of Ellsworth, daughter Sherry Higgins of Ocala, Fla., son Russell Sargent and wife, Vicky, of Mariaville, stepchildren Dawn Graham and Curtis James Sidelinger of Ellsworth and Tim Joy of Sullivan and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is planned in June on his birthday, Thursday, June 30, 2022, at a location to be determined.
