Carl E. Presley, 75, died peacefully in his sleep on Feb. 10, 2022. He was born Jan. 9, 1947, in Tulsa, Okla., to Cecil and Maybelle (Mitchell) Presley. They moved to Jal, N.M., where he graduated high school in 1965.

He was a United States Navy veteran, serving during Vietnam. His last duty station was in Winter Harbor, where he fell in love with Maine and never left. He married the love of his life, Christine (Rockwell) Presley, in 1983. They lived in Jonesport for many years. He served for a time as commander at American Legion No. 9, Machias. He was a master handyman and could fix anything. He and Christine enjoyed traveling, beachcombing, and taking care of their neighbors. Carl loved to cook and feed family and friends. He made friends wherever he went and was always looking out for people.

Carl is survived by his daughters: Estelle Bickford, and Chuck, of Jonesport, Rebecca Stewart, and Tom, of Frankfort, Melissa Crowley and her life partner Allison of Belfast and Sarah White, and Patrick, of Ellsworth. He is also survived by six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and his ex-wife, Linda Pudder of Ellsworth. He was predeceased by his wife, Christine Presley, his parents, two brothers and two granddaughters.

No services will be held, but the family invites you to share your stories of Carl with them and asks that in lieu of flowers, please do something nice for a neighbor.
