David Phillip Mouland, 62, died unexpectedly Feb. 13, 2022, in\ Ellsworth. He was born in Westwood, N.J., Jan. 17, 1960, the son of Peter and Alfreda (Gonyou) Mouland.
He graduated from Kittatinny High School in Newton, N.J., in 1978. Upon graduation he moved to Maine with his family. David attended several years at Bangor Community College before entering the workforce. He met Bonnie Davis in 1982 and they married the following year. They welcomed their only child, Brooke Elizabeth, in 1990.
He worked for many years at Main St. Auto in Ellsworth and a few years at Maine Shellfish taking care of their fleet of vehicles. In 1990, he went out on his own and opened Coastal Car Care in Ellsworth and later added Coastal Campers. He enjoyed working with his daughter, Brooke. He enjoyed going on many adventures and camping with family and friends. David was known for his strange sense of humor. He was often heard saying, “Keep it under a dollar” while at the checkout. When at a restaurant he would say, “I will have one of everything” and “How are you doing today, son?” (no matter if you were male or female).
