Ellsworth
Dagmar Elizabeth (Olsen) Lee, 81, passed away to be with the Lord on Jan. 29, 2022. She was born in Waltham, Mass., on April 13, 1940, to Arndt Olsen and Minnie “Betty” (Davis) Olsen. Following graduation from secretary school and marrying the love of her life, Bud, they set out to raise their family in Maine. Dag worked with her husband managing the office for their business, Bud Lee Electric. Dag and Bud also had a hand in managing “Bud’s Place” in the ’90s. Dag could always be found in the kitchen cooking and chatting with the local customers.
Soon after retirement from being a small business owner, she spent her time giving back to the community. Dag worked as the head cook in the kitchen at Baptist Youth Camp for five years and later worked as the cook for Bangor Christian Schools. During the summer months, she enjoyed sitting on her patio watching birds, butterflies and admiring the flowers. She was always ready for a boat ride in anticipation of seeing wildlife and loons. During the school year Dag could be found at any and every event her grandchildren were involved in, as they were truly the joy of her life.
Dag is lovingly remembered by her son, Donald Lee, and wife, Corinne, of Sullivan; and her daughter, Sherie Lee, of Ellsworth; her grandchildren Taylor Lee and wife, Shaye; Connor and Cassidy Lee; Toya (Eaton) Spencer and husband, BJ, and Elena Lee; and her great-granddaughter Loxley. Dag was predeceased by her husband, Charles “Bud” Lee (2009); her mother, Minnie Olsen; and father, Arndt Olsen. Dag will also be missed by her forever friends, Mickey Hamilton and Lena Pierpont.
