May 13, 1940 – December 16, 2021
Florence A. Scott died on Dec. 16, 2021, at home and in the loving care of family.
Florence was born in Sullivan to Elizabeth Gordon and Alvah Butler on May 13, 1940. She was also raised in Sullivan. She spent time over the years in Franklin and different other locations in Maine and Florida.
Florence worked for many years in the health care profession, working years ago for Maplecrest Nursing Home in Sullivan and then most of her life providing private duty care, taking care of others. She loved her family, spending time in Florida, reading (she loved reading a good book sitting out by the salt water), and she was an amazing cook/chef.
Florence always was known for how beautiful she was and always kept herself impeccable at all times. She had friends in Maine and Florida and elsewhere.
Florence was predeceased by her mother and father, her sister (Nancy Trundy) and her brothers (Gary Butler and Kendall Gordon). She is survived by her children: Jeffery Scott of Hancock, James and wife, Kimberly Scott, of Hancock and Shelly Scott of Hancock; grandchildren: Joshua Scott, Dylan Tracy, Brian Scott, Bryce Scott and Shelby (Scott) Damn; and great-grandchildren: Jaiden Scott, Sidney Scott, Aria Scott, Colton Scott and Lilly Damn. She is also survived by her brothers, Rusty Gordon and Gary Gordon, of Sullivan and her sister-in-law, Janet Butler, of Blue Hill and a very special niece, Deborah Young of Corea, and a very close friend, Holly Tracy of Franklin.
A private service will be held at Blaisdell Cemetery in North Sullivan in the spring of 2022.
