Bryn Mawr, Pa. and Northeast Harbor
Devereux H. Andrews, age 95, of Bryn Mawr, Pa., and Northeast Harbor, passed away peacefully on Nov. 11, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.
A graduate of The Shipley School, Devie was a member of the Merion Cricket Club, the Acorn Club, the Cranberry Club, the Northeast Harbor Fleet, the Garden Club of Mount Desert and the Garden Club of America, among many others. She served on the board of trustees for the University of Pennsylvania Hospital and, for over 50 years, on the hospital’s Board of Women Visitors, which she chaired. She sat on the University Hospital Antique Show Advisory Board for many years and was active in many capacities in United Way campaigns in Montgomery County. Devie was a lifelong competitive bridge player and enjoyed sailing, gardening and puzzles of all kinds.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart B. Andrews, and is survived by her three sons, Stuart B. Andrews Jr., Charles W.H. Andrews and Alexander M. Andrews, and four grandchildren, Alexander M. Andrews Jr., Charles W.H. Andrews Jr., Ariel S. Andrews and Benjamin J. Andrews.
