Lamoine
David Gordon Dressel of Lamoine passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the age of 36.
Our son, their brother, her uncle, their cousin. All loved him. A very kind person he was. His other large family was the non-human family members, especially his favorite black Lab “Tay Tay.” They had an unbreakable bond. He spent most of his time growing up with his brother William, exactly one year younger, and very close childhood friends Nick, Seth and Jared, hanging around Ellsworth and at the Riverside Lane house. At any given time, there could be 10 kids running around the house.
David enjoyed lobstering in the summers on the back of his dad’s lobster boat, and also many years with his brother Travis. As time progressed life was difficult, but David never hurt other people for his pain, keeping to himself most all the time. David always stayed close to his family, especially his mom, who was there through everything throughout the years.
He wore a large tattoo of a Mahi Mahi fish, a firm testament for his love of fishing in the Florida Keys, where he went so often and which he loved so much.
Our thoughts are with him as well as our prayers, our love, all as if he were still here.
David is survived by his parents, Peter and Eila, brothers William and Travis, his favorite niece Arya, many cousins and aunts and uncles as well as a close friend, Gary.
A service was held on Saturday, May 1, at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, 175 Douglas Highway, Ellsworth.
