Fredric E. Goldrich
Fred passed away Feb. 14, 2021, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. He was born in New York City the son of Lillian and Nathaniel Goldrich on Jan. 20, 1947.
Fred graduated from New York University and received his Ph.D. in physics from Princeton University. From there, he pursued his love of music and conducting. He began in dinner and children’s theater before achieving his dream of becoming the conductor of a symphonic orchestra on Long Island, N.Y.
After moving to Trenton to semi-retire, Fred joined the Ellsworth music community and for many years served as musical director for the Hancock Society of Gilbert & Sullivan, several musicals at The Grand and later The Bangor Band. He enjoyed cooking and spending his days at the computer. He loved his life in Maine.
Fred is survived by his wife of 39 years, Geri (Gormley) Goldrich, his sister, Laurie Wolf, and her husband, Bruce, of Portland, Ore., along with Nick, Mary and Olivia Wolf and, of course, his faithful canine companion Xena.
