He graduated in 1974 from Brewer High School and in 1978 graduated from UM-Orono. In 1981, he married the love of his life, Julie, and became Dad to three boys, Eddie, Mike and Chris. Bruce and Julie continued to grow the family, adding two amazing daughters, Diana and Kathryn (Katie).
In addition to his wife, Bruce is survived by Eddie and his wife, Connie, of Berwick, Pa.; Michael of Jim Thorpe, Pa.; Chris and his wife, Leah, of Springfield, Va.; Diana and her husband, Dana Paige, of Lincoln, Vt.; and Katie and her husband, Robert Ray III, of Ellsworth and his 14 awesome grandchildren, Leslie, Bella, Jasmine, Destiny, Cooper, Nora, Callie, Raina, Graeson, Layni, Carter, Karlie, Lila and Bobby. Also, his sister Donna of Ellsworth and her son David and grandson Landon.
First and foremost Bruce lived for his family. Each and every family member was number 1 to him, and he made sure they knew it. For all of the toys and gadgets he accumulated, everything was to make life more enjoyable for his family. From keeping the cabin up to snuff to always being ready to help with any project you might have, he did it all with a positivity and “Solve-the-problem” attitude that made it fun.
He was extremely partial to the music of Bruce Springsteen and helped his family learn to love The Boss as well. He loved his 1976 Gran Prix and Star Wars. His water skiing skills are legendary and he spent hours helping his kids and grandchildren learn to water ski, kneeboard and do can-openers off the diving rock on Georges Pond.
Bruce cherished his lifelong friends from St. Malo Street in California, to 81st Avenue N in Brooklyn Park, Minn., to Holyoke Street in Maine and many places in between that were with him as a young man, neighbors and co-workers and whose hilarious stories stayed with him as part of the wisdom and love he shared with everyone.
Family and friends are invited to join the celebration of life to honor Bruce that will be held Oct. 1, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the Faith Community Fellowship on Bar Harbor Road in Trenton.
