ELLSWORTH – Annie E. (Lord) Waite, born Feb. 4, 1923, in Portland to Sarah H. Lord, peacefully passed from this world to her forever home with her Lord and Savior on Aug. 12, 2016.
Annie is survived by three sons — Thomas Brown and wife, Jeannie, of Randolf; Leslie Waite and wife, Julie, all of Eastbrook; Terry and wife, Gail, of Trenton; four daughters — Linda L. Kidder of Sullivan, Pamela Waite of Ellsworth, Sue Hardison and husband, Todd, of Surry, and Carmen Ashworth of Merrillville, Ind.; 26 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, E. Neilson Waite, three sons — Russell Brown, John Brown and Neil Brown and one daughter — Nancy Brown Scott.
Annie liked journaling, knitting, crocheting, and cooking. She was a charter member of Maine Coast Baptist Church. She was active in children’s ministries for 30 years. She also was a member of the hospitality committee. For 24 years, Annie worked at The Ellsworth American and retired in 1999.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Annie may be sent to Maine Coast Baptist Church designated to the Christmas Shoe Boxes.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1-2 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, at the Maine Coast Baptist Church, where the funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., with Pastor Gerry Dill officiating.
