Ellsworth 
Wayne Richmond Rogers, born at Ellsworth May 30, 1937, to Leon and Virginia (Richmond) Rogers, passed away Sept. 22, 2020, at Winterberry Heights after a battle with Alzheimer’s. He was one of two children, and the older brother to the late John Barrie Rogers.
Wayne was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Margo, just three months prior to his own passing.
Wayne graduated from Ellsworth High School, Class of 1957. He was senior editor of The Jester Yearbook and a member of the Athletic Council. Wayne played many sports and was captain of the basketball team and high scorer his senior year. He also competed in yo-yo tournaments and loved watching tennis, football and baseball. Wayne also enjoyed hunting, fishing and wood crafting.
Wayne had many jobs in his life, one being “The Bread Man” for Nissen, and more famously, “The Cookie Man” for Nabisco, sharing new varieties with his children before they were introduced to the public.
Wayne is survived by two sons, Scott Rogers and wife, Hope, of Hancock, and Kevin Rogers of Ellsworth; two daughters, Vicki Noddin and husband, Bruce, of Ellsworth and Kelli Merchant and husband, Richard, of Hancock; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held for friends and family 3-5 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 1, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, 215 Main St., Ellsworth. To comply with social distancing protocols, guests are asked to remain in vehicles until staff escorts them in. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 2, at Woodbine Cemetery, Washington Junction Road, Ellsworth. Social distancing and CDC guidelines and protocols will be in effect.
