Allan William Bell Sr., born Dec. 28, 1941, in Portland, Maine, passed away on Aug. 20, 2020, at a Milbridge nursing home.
Allan served six years in the U.S. Army. After returning home, he was employed by the University of Maine in Presque Isle. He was later employed at Stinson’s Canning Co. and Wyman’s blueberry factory. He also loved to go fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Rose Bell; daughter, Monica (Bell) and husband, Lee Gerish, children Salem and Dylan of Naples; son, Timothy Bell of Portland; daughter-in law Wendy Bell, children James and Alexis of Presque Isle: sisters, Lorna (Bell) and Donald Cyr of Presque Isle; Helen Bell White of Hogden; Susan (Bell) and husband, Terry Townsend, of Portland and brother, John Bell of Pennsylvania.
Allan also leaves behind stepchildren Myron and Sara Alley of Steuben; Cindy and James Wallace of Milbridge; Dorea and Frederick Leighton of Steuben; Janssen and Luanne Alley of Addison and Charlene Nelson of Jonesport, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and grandchildren.
Allan was predeceased by his parents, Dora (Little) and John Bell; son, Allan Bell Jr., and a sister, Carolyn (Bell) Dodd.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
