SULLIVAN
Babe Stanley, 82, passed away on Aug. 17, 2020, at an Ellsworth hospital after a brief struggle with organ failure. He was born on May 28, 1938, son of Edith Stanley of Gouldsboro. Babe served in the Navy in the late ’50s.
He was a longtime lobsterman and fisherman. He loved working on and around the water. He also was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and sports fan.
Babe was predeceased by his mother, a brother, two sisters and two sons, Shain and Daniel. He is survived by his wife, Shelia; children, JoEllen Waters, Debi Gerrish and Robert Philbrook Jr.; granddaughters, Tammy Smith and Kim Crocker; grandsons, Robert Stanley and Russell Stanley; great-granddaughters, Megan Light, Taylor Crocker and Rikki Hewes; great-grandsons, Sabastian Waters and Derek Crocker Jr.; sister, Jolene Stanley; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He is also missed by his dog, Precious.
A memorial service for Babe will be held at a later date. Babe was much loved and will be missed by many family members and friends.
