Leonard W. Getchell

Leonard W. Getchell passed away peacefully with his children by his side July 6, 2020, at EMMC, Bangor. “Lenny” was 75.

Lenny was born June 3, 1945, in Bangor, to Harold O. Getchell Sr. and Avis L. (Pinkham) Getchell. Lenny was predeceased by his mother and father.

Lenny is survived by his brother, Harold O. Getchell Jr., and sister, Pauline (Getchell) Farley; daughter, Melinda Maynard-Bedard, and husband, Stacy, of Otis and two children; daughter, Toni Soucy, and husband, John, of Clifton and two children; daughter, Jen, of Bangor and two children; son, Leonard Getchell Jr., and girlfriend, Angela, of Beddington; stepdaughter, Melina Merritt, and husband, Kevin, of Addison and two sons; his stepson, Harold “Sonny” Estes, and wife, Jen, of Beddington; and stepson, Ellery Church. He’s also survived by four great-grandkid, Camden, Kyle, Renley and Mason.

Lenny loved visiting his friends, Jerry Torrey and Tina Valaincourt. He enjoyed being around family and listening to his son Jr.’s hunting stories and staying up to date with his family. He enjoyed taking rides out on the back roads. All who knew Lenny knew he was never without his favorite “soda,” Bud Light.

There will a service to pay your respects on July 25, 2020, noon to 1600 (4 p.m.) at his stepdaughter Melina’s home at 535 Indian River Road, Addison. There is a “GoFundMe” page to help the family on Facebook under Leonard Getchell.
