BLUE HILL
Chesley Lawson Yurchick Jr., 43, passed away unexpectedly on July 2, 2020, at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Chuck learned he had cancer five weeks before his untimely death. He was born on May 15, 1977, weighing 10 pounds, 10 ounces, in Austin, Texas, to Debbie Kittle and Chesley Yurchick Sr.
Chuck was raised on the lake in Austin with his mom and siblings, where he grew an amazing love for the water and his family. He always wanted to be as cool as he thought his sister always seemed. He loved being a big brother. He was happiest playing football for West Lake High School, where he made lots of lifelong friends.
Chuck made so many friends in his life being the kindhearted man he was. Along with his longtime captain and partner in crime, Peter Collins, Chuck spent the other half of his life on F/V Carol Ann out of Stonington as a sternman. Chuck loved his family, was always passionate about his job and gave his all to the things that mattered.
Chuck was preceded in death by his stepfather, Tim Johnson, and his uncle, Michael Yurchick Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Serenity Yurchick; children, Kaylin Riley Yurchick of Colorado, and Addison Braelyn Yurchick of Blue Hill; siblings, Laurel Yurchick, Clinton Johnson and Ty Kittle; half-siblings, Katherine Yurchick of Blue Hill and Lucas Yurchick of Deer Isle; and too many special friends to mention, but he held them in his heart and they knew.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, July 19, at 12 Turkey Farm Road in Blue Hill. He wanted us to come together to eat some food and remember him. Bring a dish or just come as you are.
In lieu of flowers, send any well wishes to his wife and daughter at 12 Turkey Farm Road, Blue Hill, ME 04614. There is also a GoFundMe page accessible from his Facebook page.
