Christine L. (Thompson) Felch, 94, died peacefully in her home on Monday, Feb. 3, 2020. She was born in Bar Harbor on March 22, 1925.
She attended schools in Salisbury Cove and Bar Harbor High School, then moved to Kittery and finished out her high school year at Traip Academy. She worked at Sylvania in Dover, N.H., after graduating from high school and then worked at Lamie’s Tavern in Hampton for four years, where she met the love of her life, Forrest Felch. They were married on Sept. 25, 1948. She went to work at the Seabrook Elementary School and the Winnacunnet High School lunch programs for over 13 years.
Christine was a member of the Trinity United Church in Seabrook and was a deacon and a member of the church women’s fellowship group. Chris loved her church and worked on the turkey dinners by helping out and also on the food table at the church fairs. She was a 50-year member of the Hampton Falls Grange and a member of the UNH Extension group.
She loved to crochet lap blankets for the RSVP (retired senior volunteer program). She volunteered for the Red Cross mobile blood drive for over 30 years. She was a member of the Orient Chapter No. 22 of the Eastern Star of Exeter for 80 years and was a member of the Seabrook Happy Seniors for over 50 years. She loved music and had many friends and she especially enjoyed her family camp in Maine.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Forrest S. Felch, her son, Dana F. Felch, and his wife, Julie, daughter Diana L. Leguillon and her husband, Mark, her six grandchildren, Kelley Dwyer, Jessie Nudd, Ory Felch, Alex Felch, Justin Felch and Ryan Murphy, and two great-grandchildren, Jordan Untiet and Katherine Dwyer.
She was predeceased by her parents, Gertrude and Shirley Thompson, a sister, Mildred Leland, and her daughter, Deborah Murphy.
Visiting hours will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Seabrook. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
