ELLSWORTH
Wayne Henry French, 72, died on July 23, 2019. He was born Oct. 9, 1946.
Wayne grew up in Eastbrook on the family farm, where he was particularly close to his grandfather, William B. French. He moved away to attend high school at Lee Academy in Lee. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army for four years, from which he was honorably discharged. He was then employed by Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. for over 25 years, proudly stating he never missed a single day of work.
Over the years, Wayne was a member of the Ellsworth Masonic Lodge, the Ellsworth Elks Lodge and the Ellsworth Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed bowling and competed together with Marilyn, his longtime partner, for many years.
Wayne is survived by his children, Shannon, Stephanie and Stacey. He was predeceased by his partner, Marilyn Sincyr.
The Elks Lodge will be holding a memorial service. A private graveside service will be held in Eastbrook.
