Marie H. Lundahl died on July 19, 2019, in Palm Harbor, Fla., due to congestive heart failure. She was 97 years old.
Mrs. Lundahl was born on March 11, 1922, to Wallace and Isabel Hamilton of Hopkins, Minn. She attended Carleton College and the University of Minnesota, working toward a Bachelor of Nursing degree. She married Walter N. Lundahl in 1944. The Lundahls spent summers in Steuben from 1984 until 2014.
Mrs. Lundahl gave generously of her time to many charitable organizations, notably working with the blind, the homeless and the elderly. She was a wonderful baker and loved playing card games. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, basket weaving and throwing pottery.
Mrs. Lundahl is survived by her five children, Fred and Sharon Lundahl of Whidbey Island, Wash.; Judy Lundahl of Surry, N.H.; Dan and Linda Lundahl of Oxford, Miss.; Susan and John Haldeman of Campobello, S.C.; and Richard and Heather Lundahl of Odessa, Fla., and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; her sister, Ethel (Dode) Wonson; and her grandson, Andrew Haldeman.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 25, following the 10 a.m. service at the Milbridge Congregational Church in Milbridge. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mrs. Lundahl’s life.
