Longtime Blue Hill resident Lois Vail passed away peacefully April 3, at Seaport Village in Ellsworth. Born Lois Frances Jacob, Nov. 22, 1924, in Dallas Texas, she was the daughter of William Chalmer Jacob and Eloise Miller. Growing up in her father’s music school in Dallas, she became an accomplished musician at a very young age. Lois began a lifelong professional career in her early teens, teaching and playing accordion and piano. Widowed for many years, Lois moved to Blue Hill in 2004, where she lived with a daughter. Lois is survived by her four children and their families including 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother and a sister. Lois was a member of St, Joseph’s Catholic Church in Ellsworth. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
