Lloyd D. “Bullet” Wilbur

Lloyd D. “Bullet” Wilbur, 83, longtime resident of Franklin, died on Jan. 22, 2019, at his home. He was born Feb. 19, 1935, in Eastbrook, a son of Leslie and Muriel Wilbur, and attended local schools. Following high school, Lloyd enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served for 21 years and earned numerous medals and decorations.

Upon discharge from the Air Force, Lloyd opened Franklin Husqvarna in 1980, and owned and operated it up until his recent health conditions didn’t allow him to and the business was taken over by his son Allen.

Bullet was predeceased by his parents and his beloved wife, Emily (Macy) Wilbur, and his four brothers.

Survivors include two sons, Allen D. Wilbur of Eastbrook, Daniel J. Wilbur of Franklin, a daughter Glenda D. Leavitt of Franklin, a sister Eleanor Brooks of Ellsworth as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held from noon-3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at the Eastbrook Community Center, 959 Eastbrook Road in Eastbrook. A graveside service with military honors will be held in the spring in Sunnyside Cemetery, Eastbrook. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
