SORRENTO
Nadine E. (Bobbie) Sutherland, 82, passed away July 18, 2018, from complications of Parkinson’s at her home on her husband’s birthday. She was born in Sorrento, Oct. 10, 1935, the daughter of Raymond and Alfreda (Foster) Fenton.
She graduated from Sumner Memorial High School. She married the love of her life, Louie, in 1955 and had celebrated 51 years of marriage before his passing in 2006. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and most of all her family.
Nadine is survived by her sons, Louis Sutherland Jr. and wife, Penny, of Sorrento and Brent Sutherland and his significant other Diane Genthner of Hampden; daughter, Colleen Slaney of Fairfield; grandchildren, Jaime Wade and husband, Charlie, of Turner and Bryan Slaney and wife, Amy, of Fairfield; great-grandchildren, Brayden Mitchell of Turner and Cooper Slaney of Fairfield; step-great-granddaughter Kathleen Phippen of Phippsburg; step-grandson Jason Phippen of Portland; and a very special friend, Donnie Haslam. She was predeceased by her parents; son, Bryant Sutherland; son-in-law, Scott Slaney; step-granddaughter, Kathleen Phippen; and sister, Dodie Stratton.
A special thank you to Above and Beyond for in-home care that has provided caregivers over the last 2½ years and a special thank you to Nadine Leighton for her special care.
A graveside service will be held 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at the Doane’s Point Cemetery, Sorrento.
