SURRY
Carolyn Leighton
Carolyn passed away on June 3, 2018, at her home in Surry. She was born in Lubec on Sept. 26, 1942, daughter of Philip G. Leighton and Katherine Laslie.
Carolyn was raised in Lubec by her grandparents and attended Dennysville and Lubec schools. She was a proud homemaker and in addition to raising her children, Carolyn enjoyed dancing, gardening and floral arranging. She was also an avid bowler at Eastward Lanes in Ellsworth, having won many awards for high scorer through the years. In addition, she was an active member of the Eagles Club in Brewer.
She leaves behind her children and grandchildren, Frank Clark III and Renee Clark, Hampden and his daughter Meagan, Philip Clark, Hampden and his son Brandon, Corinna Blair Walsh and Tim Walsh, Hollis and their son Dylan, Shawn Blair, Surry and his daughter Chelsea, and Darren and Nicole Blair, Franklin and their children Autumn, Morgan and Alayna. She also leaves behind numerous loving friends and relatives.
Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, her brother Raymond Jones and her son Barry Clark.
Family and friends are invited to attend her graveside service at Olson Cemetery in Lubec on June 30 at 1 p.m., and/or a celebration of her life at Eastward Lanes in Ellsworth on July 1 from 1-4 p.m.
