Donna Mae Grindle, 63, of Columbia passed away on April 18, 2018, at the home of her sister Anna and Ed Duquette in Monson, with her husband, David, and her loved ones by her side.

Donna was born on July 7, 1954, in Bangor, to Richard Thayer Bradstreet and Elizabeth Mae Temple Bradstreet of Birch Harbor.

Donna was a graduate of Sumner Memorial High School in 1971. She became a mother and a foster parent to several foster children for the state of Maine. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved her community and her scratch-off tickets. She worked at the Winter Harbor Naval Base for several years until her predeceased husband took ill from kidney disease. Donna was the first woman trained to do kidney dialysis at home.

Donna went to work for Witham Family Properties in 1988, where she remained to be a 30-year employee. She worked her way up from a chambermaid to general manager of the Bar Harbor Laundry Co.

Donna is survived by her husband, David Grindle, of Columbia, daughters Tina Hammond of Bar Harbor and Kimberly Hammond of Gouldsboro, sons Michael Church of Franklin and Lewis Church of Columbia Falls, grandchildren Kody Bunker, Gary and Danny Goodrich, Brittney and Jasmine Church, great-granddaughters Taylor and Natalie Bunker. Siblings Lisa Bradstreet and Jim of Windham, Anna and Ed Duquette of Monson, Eric and Kelly Bradstreet of Gardiner, Mark and Cathy Bradstreet of Lincolnville, Jeff and Sherri Bradstreet of Dixmont, sister-in-law Deborah Hauser of Franklin, aunt Marylyn McAuliffe of Birch Harbor and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Predeceased by her parents, brother Danny Bradstreet, husband, Colon “Deak” Church, grandson Kyle Bunker and daughter-in-law Kelley Church.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday May 12, 2018, at 4 p.m. at Wreaths Across America Gym, 4 Point St. Columbia Falls, ME 04623.

In lieu of flowers, a contribution in her honor may be sent to The Benevolence Fund Witham Family Accounting Dept., 215 High St., Ellsworth, ME 04605.
