MILBRIDGE
Dorinda Irene Thibeau, 59, of Milbridge died Thursday, March 29, 2018, at her home. Dorinda was born Aug. 6, 1958, in Ellsworth, the beloved seventh child of seven children born to Sidney A. Thibeau and Mabel O. Thibeau.
Her career was spent working as a mental health social worker, counselor and crisis worker for both children and adults; she was at her very best supporting people in need of love, compassion and medical care, showing them how to endure in hardship and teaching them how to grow to their greatest potential. Although she was faced with physical challenges of her own, she did so bravely and without complaint while continuing to work for her clients and on remodeling her home. Dorinda was best known for her intelligence, enjoyment of reading, sweet smile, love for her extended family and everlasting loyalty to those whom she called friends, including her cat, Bugs.
Dorinda was predeceased by her parents, her brother Gregory Michael Thibeau, and her sister Sydney Sue Thibeau. She is survived by sisters Sally Leighton (and her husband, Bruce) of Milbridge, Valerie Yates of Sarasota, Fla., and Marina Thibeau of Belgrade, as well as brother Richard Thibeau (and his wife Charlene) of Traverse City, Mich. Dorinda is also survived by uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as their children, all of whom she kept in her heart and thoughts every day.
Following cremation, there will be a memorial service later this spring for friends and family to gather in Dorinda’s memory. An announcement will be sent as soon as the family can arrange it. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Milbridge.
