Gary W. Durkee, 65, passed away Oct. 5, 2017, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 23, 1952 in Waterford, Conn.
Gary served in the U. S. Army and was a Vietnam veteran.
Gary’s passion was being an avid outdoorsman. He lived for each season, as there was always a fish to catch or an animal to hunt. Fall was his favorite time of year, when he could go bird hunting with his dogs.
He is survived by his life partner, Cathleen Lucier of Hancock. Daughter Hollie Dumais and her husband, Chris, and grandson Caleb Hichborn of Ellsworth. He also touched many other people’s lives in Downeast Maine.
