EASTBROOK
Stephen “Steph” Zadravecz, 71, of Molasses Pond, Eastbrook, passed away Oct. 11, 2017. He was born July 22, 1946, in Bridgeport, Conn., the son of Stephen Zadravecz and Julia Nemetz Zadravecz.
Steve moved to Maine at the age of 3 when his parents purchased The Molasses Pond House. He graduated from Lee Academy and joined the Navy Seabees at McMurdo Station in Antarctica, serving in Operation Deep Freeze. Steve worked for Atlantic Builders as a carpenter supervisor. He truly enjoyed running his family business with his life partner, Joanne Spizio, loving their campers like family.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister Ann Torok and husband, Frank, and nephew Bobby Torok. Survivors are his “favorite” niece, Susan Nelson, and her husband, John Noonan, nephews: Frank Torok, Larry Nelson and wife, Natalie, Dion and Chris Noonan, Anthony Nelson, Ethan Fancher and Hunter Noonan. Dear to his heart were Scotty and Sierra Firley, who were just like his own children and their mother, Virginia, his two Navy buddies, Ralph Fields and Jerry Macomber, all of his Molasses Pond family as well as his Kentucky Fondaw family.
Graveside services are Saturday Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. at the family lot on Sugar Hill Road, Eastbrook. Fellowship and conversations will follow at the Eastbrook Community Center with light refreshments. Donations in memory of Steve can be made to the Eastbrook Volunteer Fire Department, 918 Eastbrook Road, Eastbrook, ME 04634.
