ELLSWORTH
George E. Milliken Sr. passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2017, in Ellsworth. He was born in North Brooklin on Sept. 18, 1936, to William N. and Margaret E. (Giles) Milliken. He loved hunting, camping, country music, road trips and spending time with his family and friends. George worked many years for the state of Maine DOT and the city of Ellsworth school system until his retirement.
George met and fell in love with Mary Stillwell in 1957; they were married and celebrated 47 years together, until her passing in 2005. George loved to dance and would travel all around the state to hear the old-time country music; he made friends wherever he went. He will be sadly missed by his children George Jr. and his wife, Dawn, Wayne and his wife, Terri, his daughters Evelyn Jordan and Sandra Rhodes. He will also be missed by his grandchildren Wayne J., Kelly, Kristy, Scott, Matthew, Joshua, Randa and great-grandchildren Kennedy, Keith, Kevin, Shawn, Ethan, Timothy, Gavin, Matthew, Karson, Melody, Kaleb, Aubrii, Alyana, Farrah and Desirae. Also a special friend Barbara Reynolds.
A graveside service for George will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, at Bayview Cemetery in Franklin, immediately followed by a celebration of life for George from 1-4 p.m. at the Elks Lodge in Ellsworth. A special thank you to Seaport Health Care and the many friends he made while there. Arrangements entrusted to Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home.
