BRUNSWICK — Kathleen Claire Mahon, age 64, died Tuesday, June 6, at Mid Coast Hospital, Brunswick. She was born in Jacksonville, Fla., Oct. 10, 1952, the daughter of Joseph E Sheehan Sr. and Christine M. Sheehan.
She graduated from Brunswick High School. She had been employed as a receptionist/typist for Parkview Hospital. She then volunteered for United Bikers of Maine, working tirelessly in legislative affairs and even contributed to putting RIDE SAFE on all motorcycle licenses plates in Maine.
She was married to Thomas Austin of Ellsworth in 1973 and later to George David Mahon Jr. of Ellsworth, who died in an industrial accident in Portland in 1985. She is survived by her father of Brunswick; two daughters, Christine Mahon of Phoenix, Ariz., and Casey Mahon of Woodstock, Ga.; two brothers, Joseph E. Sheehan Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Michael Sheehan of Biddeford; a sister, Margaret (Peggy) Sheehan of Brunswick and several grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 12, at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick. Interment will be in Growstown Cemetery, Church Road, followed by a reception at St. Charles Borromeo Church, All Saints Parish, McKeen Street, Brunswick.
