SURRY— Gilbert R. Grindle, 74, of Surry, lost his battle with cancer on April 12, 2016. He was the son of the late Hollis (Hottie) Grindle and Murtle Grindle. He leaves behind his sweetie Patricia Thompson; Patricia’s girls Lucinda Griffin of Zephyrhills, Fla., and Effie Kane Obin of Palm Harbor, Fla.
Gilbert loved to fish and play cards with his brothers Phillip and Gerald Grindle of Waltham along with all his buddies.
He leaves behind his sister Geraldine and brother-in-law Jack Vanovenhue of Rockland, Conn.; brother Gerald Grindle and his wife Nicole of Waltham; sister Phillis Grindle Kane and husband Jasper Kane of Ellsworth. He was predeceased by his brothers Donald, Raymond, Tommy, Dickie, his sister Pauline Grindle, along with several nieces and nephews
Gilbert loved spending time with his family and friends, and loved his beloved pups Ruebelle and Gigi Belle. They went everywhere with him.
A graveside service will be held in the late spring. Condolences may be expressed to P.O. Box 16, Surry, ME 04684.
