ELLSWORTH

Bayside Road: There is yet another vacant spot in our neighborhood, because on May 13, 2017, the Lord Jesus called His Servant Paul Allen Patten home. Paul passed into his eternal rest at home in the care of Beacon Hospice, wife Kathy and family.

He was the only child of Paul H. and Jennie (Conray) Patten, born in Seal Harbor, Maine, June 29, 1931. Paul served in the U.S. Coast Guard from June 1951 to June 1954.

He is survived by his first wife, Eva Hanson, and his second wife, Kathy. Also his only child, Janet, and her husband, William Igoe. Paul has five step-children, Linda Risley, Rose Chick, Gloria and husband Jim Henderson, Wade Chick and Vashti Cossette. He was the proud PaPa of 10 grandchildren, Everett and Charles Sanborn, James and Nathan Igoe, Carla and husband Matt Savage, Moriah and companion Matt Smullen, Devin Rose and Abby Cossette and Angie Reynolds and Katie Henderson of Turo, N.S. He also was Great PaPa to Timothy and Daisey Sanborn, Aiden Albright, Austin Savage, Hayliegh Jo Gabby, Sean and Raylynn Sanborn and last, but not least, Nira Louise Smullen. He once said “Where did they all come from?”

Allen was also very blessed with many great friends and family. He attended the Bible Baptist Church in Hancock. He had so many favorite verses it’s hard to choose just one. The Bible was his favorite book to read and he spent many hours praying for the salvation of his family and dear friends. At his request there will be no service, but he wants to be laid to rest when his wife, Kathy, passes. We, as a family, can’t thank the Ladies of Beacon Hospice enough for the wonderful help and care they gave us. Arrangements by Downeast Cremations of Bangor.
