EPSOM, N.H. — Mr. Norman H. Gordon, 72, of Epsom, N.H., passed away peacefully on April 20, 2017, in the care of the Concord Hospice House. He was surrounded by his wife, family and dear friends.
Born at home in Eastbrook, Maine, he was the son of the late Edgar and Avis (Dyer) Gordon. He was raised and educated in Maine, and then moved to New Hampshire in 1969, residing in Epsom with his wife for the past 18 years.
Norm studied the Bible carefully, dedicated his life to Jehovah God and was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses Sept. 12, 1976. He regularly read the Bible and attended the Concord Kingdom Hall.
Prior to his retirement, Norm was employed by the state of New Hampshire. He worked out of Bear Brook State Park as a stock clerk for over 20 years, making deliveries to many New Hampshire state parks. He loved God’s beautiful creations, hiking, gardening, antique cars and trucks and history. Norm always enjoyed sharing amusing stories of his time in Maine. He and Sharon enjoyed many trips to Maine and other places.
He was predeceased by two brothers, Ronald and Billy (William) Gordon.
Norm is survived by his wife of nearly 36 years, Sharon (Russell, Stone) Gordon of Epsom; his stepson, Daniel Stone, and his fiancée Linda Curry of Montana; his siblings, Gilbert Gordon and Cheryl of New Hampshire, Janice Gordon of Maine, James Gordon of Maine, Thom Gordon and Maureen of New Hampshire, Jonathan Gordon and Birdie (Roberta Gordon) of Maine, Kathy Ginn and Mark of Maine and David Gordon and Kathy of Maine. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mrs. Gordon and family would like to express thanks and appreciation to all the following caregivers for the kind, compassionate care Norman received since July, 2016: Concord Hospital staff, Dr. N. Luther and staff, Epsom Manor Nursing Home, CRVNA and the Hospice House, Dr. T. Sheldon, MD and staff, and Dr. D. Weckstein, MD, and staff.
Calling hours and a memorial reception for family and neighbors will be held on Saturday, May 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Still Oaks Funeral & Memorial Home, 1217 Suncook Valley Highway in Epsom. A memorial talk will follow at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 199 East Side Dr. in Concord, N.H., at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the East Concord Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 199 East Side Dr., Concord, NH 03301 or to a local library in Norman’s memory.
