EDMOND, OKLA. — was born on May 29, 1988, in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Kelly Dunn and Tonya McDaniel. He passed on April 2, 2016, in Oklahoma City with his family by his side. Austin grew up in Edmond and attended Edmond public schools. He met his soul mate, Shayla Bernstein, and they were blessed with two boys, Alijha Austin and Rhyker Austin.
Austin enjoyed hanging out with his family and friends, and lived life to the fullest. He was an avid skateboarder and enjoyed bridge jumping, fishing and noodling. Austin would tinker with electronics, and could fix and build anything, usually starting from scratch. He loved music and listening to his brother play in a band. His true love and passion was his family. Austin loved his boys and enjoyed playing video games, watching “Ninja Turtles” as well as taking them to the park. He also enjoyed Pepe’s Mexican restaurant, but nothing beat his Meme’s home cooking.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmother, Dolores McDaniel, and cousin, Troy McDaniel. Austin leaves behind his soul mate, Shayla Dunn; sons, Alijha and Rhyker Dunn; mother Tonya McDaniel; father Kelly Dunn and wife, Kristen; grandfather Sammy “Papa” and Frances “Meme” McDaniel; brother Samuel Dunn and Megan Pinkston; brother Ayden Dunn; sister Ciara Dunn; mother-in-law Cindy Bernstein; brother-in-law BJ Bernstein and wife Lacey; grandmother Betty Dhooghe and husband, Jim; grandfather Robert Dunn and wife, Martha; great-grandmother Vera Dick; uncle Troy Dunn and aunt Susan Krause.
A come-and-go visitation for Austin will be held from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Crawford Funeral Service with the family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. A service celebrating the life of Austin will be on Friday, April 8, 2016, at noon at the funeral home.
