MANCHESTER, CONN./BIRCH HARBOR – Joseph F. Curtis, 68, of Manchester, Conn., and Birch Harbor, died unexpectedly Feb. 18, 2017, in Birch Harbor.
He was born Aug. 28, 1948, in Blue Hill to Letitia and the late Carlton Curtis.
He graduated from Manchester High School in Connecticut in 1967. He served in the Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS Wasp aircraft carrier. Joseph spent his career as a long-distance truck driver and he loved his truck “Nellie.” He also loved hunting, fishing and being out on the ocean.
Joseph is sadly missed by his loving wife, Linda. He was the loving son of Letitia Church of Birch Harbor, loving brother to sisters Mary and husband, Edward Evelyn, of Florida, and Carolyn and husband, John Caron, of Massachusetts. He also left behind a daughter, Regina Curtis of Connecticut, and granddaughter Hanna.
A memorial service and celebration of Joseph’s life will be held on May 20, 2017, at 2 p.m. at the Ellsworth Elks Lodge, 317 High St., Ellsworth.
