Anne B. Black

BROOKSVILLE – Anne B. Black, 73, died on Feb. 21, 2017, at a Deer Isle health care facility. She was born in Franklin, April 28, 1943, daughter of Manley E. and Elizabeth (Fickett) Bragdon.

Anne grew up in Blue Hill and graduated from George Stevens Academy. In 1974, Anne and Edward M. Black were married in Brooksville. Anne was Ed’s partner and best friend in everything for their 42 years together. She was a member of the Brooksville Community Center Board. Anne enjoyed cooking, traveling, gardening, hunting, and loved spending time with her family and friends, and raising their three daughters with Ed.

She is survived by her husband, Edward; daughters, Toni Staples and husband, Troy, Teri Rabasca and significant other, John, and Tami Mcguan and husband, Greg; grandchildren Meg, Chesley, Tyler, Cameron, Logan, Chloe and Nola; sister Mary Allen and husband, Ronald; brother Manley Bragdon Jr; and several nieces, nephews and special feline friend Tilley. She was predeceased by her parents; sister-in-law Geraldine Bragdon.

A celebration of life will be held at noon, Feb. 25, 2017, at the Brooksville Community Center.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anne’s memory may be made to the Island Nursing Home, c/o Activity Fund, P.O. Box 124, Deer Isle, ME 04627.
