ELLSWORTH – Karen S. Rogers, 59, formerly of Eastbrook, died Jan. 7, 2017, at her home. She was born in Ellsworth, Feb. 15, 1957, daughter of Gordon and Catherine E. (Herrick) Swett.
She graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1976. She went to work for Adams store in Ellsworth, which later became Ruth Fosters. She also worked at Pat’s Pizza for many years, and worked side by side with her husband, Jeff, in their many business ventures over the years. Karen enjoyed her time on the beach at Molasses Pond, spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed trips to Florida.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jeff; daughter Ashley Cope and partner, Dan; sister Debbie Winters and husband, Steve; brothers, David Tracy and wife, Sue, and twin brother, Keith Swett and wife, Andrea; mother-in-law Mother Mary Maddocks; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister Joanne Simcox.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at the Eastbrook Community Building.
