BASS HARBOR – Vaughn Lewis Hopkins, 67, passed on Oct. 28, 2016, on Mount Desert Island. Vaughn was born in Toledo, Ohio, on Sept. 24, 1949, to Bonnie and Lewis Hopkins. He graduated from Mount Desert Island High School. He worked at Swans Island Mail and Freight for many years.
He was loved by all who met him. Vaughn was a great family man, a loving father. He was a social, active man and he enjoyed collecting items along with many friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Lewis J. Hopkins. He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Hopkins; his siblings Doug and Janice, Paul and Debbie, Frank, L.J. and Carolyn, Terry and Kim; his daughters Megan, Alicia, Alison; grandchildren James, Sierra, Brendan, Emmet and Lyam.
A celebration of life will be held at noon on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at the Trenton Grange. In lieu of flowers, we ask you donate to your favorite charity in his name. Arrangements by Acadia Burial and Cremation Direct, P.O. Box 99, Mt. Desert, ME 04660.
